Zuckerberg’s website is not considered to be “light” in the social media environment and the same applies to the Messenger. Recently, the app for both Android and iOS has received completely new features that make the platform look like one of the most serious competitors – Snapchat. From the communicator level, we can take a picture, add interesting effects, signatures, objects and send to our friends. Support for such extended functions by Messenger determines the necessity of constantly polling servers in search of state changes (new message, new content on Messenger Day, new voice connection, etc.), as well as saving large amounts of data in the phone’s memory. On the occasion of a very active use of the Messenger, it may turn out that he is responsible for draining the battery. It is also irrelevant to the overall performance of the device.
