UODO punished Morele.net
UODO was informed about the whole case. The Office punished the e-store for not properly protecting customer data. According to unofficial information, UODO imposed a penalty because Morele.net was unable to prevent a hacker attack.
The penalty is PLN 2.8 million, which makes it the highest in the history of all penalties imposed by the Office for Personal Data Protection. – We do not agree with the assessment of the collected evidence, which is why we want the case to be reconsidered with the participation of independent experts – said Radosław Stasiak, vice president of IT at Morele.net in an interview with the Puls Biznesu daily.
– There is no order to immediately pay the penalty indicated by the office, hence this situation does not affect the ongoing operation of the group – Stasiak added. The company intends to appeal against the decision to the Administrative Court.
