The Office for Personal Data Protection imposed a PLN 2.8 million fine on the e-shop for customer data leakage that occurred on Monday, Tuesday, December 18, 2018.

UODO punished

UODO was informed about the whole case. The Office punished the e-store for not properly protecting customer data. According to unofficial information, UODO imposed a penalty because was unable to prevent a hacker attack.

The penalty is PLN 2.8 million, which makes it the highest in the history of all penalties imposed by the Office for Personal Data Protection. – We do not agree with the assessment of the collected evidence, which is why we want the case to be reconsidered with the participation of independent experts – said Radosław Stasiak, vice president of IT at in an interview with the Puls Biznesu daily.

– There is no order to immediately pay the penalty indicated by the office, hence this situation does not affect the ongoing operation of the group – Stasiak added. The company intends to appeal against the decision to the Administrative Court.
